Maldon Division
Our Division covers a wide geographical area incorporating rural towns and villages. To help with the administration of the Division, it is divided into three Districts:
There are currently Rainbow Units, Brownie Units, Guide Units and Senior Section Units in the Division where over 600 girls and young women, supervised by their adult leaders, enjoying the Guiding experience.
As we cover such a large area, we only occasionally get together as a Division, but meet up in Districts several times a year to celebrate national occasions, Thinking Day (our special Guide Day, which is usually the nearest Saturday to February 22nd, that being the joint birthday of our Founders, Lord and Lady Baden Powell) or simply enjoy each others company and experiences.
Each Unit devises its own programme of activities which could include craft work, exploring world issues, helping others, learning new practical skills or challenging oneself by perhaps abseiling or canoeing, all underpinned by the idea that the members help choose what is done and the development of their life skills.
There is always room for another Unit – Rainbow Units (5-7yrs old) are particularly needed south of Maldon in Latchingdon / Mayland, Southminster and Burnham on Crouch areas but we need adult leaders to run these and so if you are interested do please contact us. You would be well supported and trained during set-up, with continued support from your District and Division teams.
So, if you wish to get in touch or require further information about joining our Division please complete a contact form; we look forward to hearing from you.
