"I hope you find the information within interesting and informative. As a Guiding County, we are forward looking and very active. Guiding is about acquiring skills for life .............. about enabling girls and women to be ready to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow within a girl only space.

In 2010, Girlguiding celebrated its 100th year; there were numerous opportunities for everyone to enjoy - from the youngest Rainbow to the oldest Trefoil Guild member - at both small and large events, home and abroad. As we move into the next Century, we are not looking back but ever forward offering activities and challenges, which not only assist personal development but provide friendship and fun along the way.

We are always in need of volunteers to enable the young people we have on our wait lists to join new and existing units, so if you would like to become involved or find out more, please do contact us.

Within our County, we have more than 6,800 members and there are nearly 600,000 members throughout the UK and 10 million members worldwide. We hope that visitors to this site will all have fun learning more about Girlguiding in Essex North East."
