There are depots within the County which are able to supply uniforms and other items available from Girlguiding UK we also have a band of knowledgeable volunteers who you can contact to arrange an appointment (see table below)

1.  Colchester Scout & Guide Shop

Plans for April to July 2021

We are pleased to announce that we are making plans to re-open your Scout and Guide Shop following a year of running it from home due to the Covid restrictions. To keep everyone safe we are introducing the following Guidelines which will be reassessed on a regular basis.

• We will open Saturdays 9 to 12 only until July summer break and reassess the situation for September.
• Badge orders are to be on a pre order basis only.
• All orders for collection are to be placed by 7pm on the Friday evening at the latest. They will then be available for collection on the Saturday morning.
• All Leaders orders to be pre ordered, we will then have them ready for collection.
• We will confirm order and cost.
• Payment for orders to be collected will be cheque or card on collection unless your Group has a Credit account. BAC’s available if you wish to pay in advance.
• Orders to be posted out are to be paid for in advance unless your Group has a Credit account. Postage will now be added. Orders will be posted on a Tuesday or Friday.
• No badges will be available if Leaders just turn up due to Covid regulations as badges will not be stored on site.
• One Volunteer to man collections and payment at Badge Shop.
• One Volunteer at Uniform shop to control customers in and out, one volunteer to assist parents, one volunteer to operate laptop.
• We will operate a one family / bubble in, one out system for uniforms.
• Dependant on Government guidelines whether trying on of uniform is allowed.
• The main hall / toilets will not be available.
• We will be happy to post out orders during the summer holidays if Leaders choose to continue with their meetings.
• We will do our best to ensure that we are well stocked on all items but have to rely on Scout Stores and Girlguiding Trading to send out orders working on restricted numbers.
• Please remember that scarves can take up to 8 weeks unless it’s a plain scarf.
• Please let us know in advance if you require a large amount of an item.
