Jack Petchey Co-ordinator

The Jack Petchey Co-ordinator is a co-opted member of County Awards Committee (which meets 3 times a year) reporting to the Awards Committee Chairman and keeping her up to date at all times

The role involves:

  • Forming a link between the Jack Petchey Foundation and Girlguiding Essex North East
  • Ensuring all information re Jack Petchey Foundation on the ENE Web is up to date
  • Placing articles in the County Update about Jack Petchey Foundation bringing it to the attention of leaders and informing them of relevant closing dates for each round of the award

With regard to the Girl Awards, the Jack Petchey Co-ordinator will:

  • Collate nomination forms and distribute to the Awards Committee before meetings
  • Along with the awards committee decide who should receive the £200s
  • Put details of girls etc onto Jack Petchey forms, online
  • Arrange for certificates to be written
  • Pass bank details of recipient units to County Treasurer
  • Let all unit leaders know result of applications
  • Collate all paperwork to go out to girls and arrange for this to be distributed
  • Publish names of recipients in County Update
  • Keep records of who receives awards and collate information about receipts ensuring that these are received in a timely manner
  • Provide the Jack Petchey Foundation with copies of requested receipts when audited

With regard to Leader Awards, the Jack Petchey Co-ordinator will:

  • Along with Awards Committee decide which Leaders should be nominated
  • Fill in details on Jack Petchey forms online
  • When Jack Petchey Foundation confirm leaders awards let nominator know application successful
  • Arrange for an interim certificate to be produced and presented to recipient
  • If applicable meet with successful Leaders and decide on application to Small Grants Fund
  • Fill in details on Jack Petchey forms online

With regard to the Jack Petchey Awards Presentation evening, the Jack Petchey Co-ordinator will:

  • Liaise with Jack Petchey Foundation re Awards Presentation evening (the Foundation book the venue and arrange refreshments)
  • Provide the County Office with the information required to enable them to send out invitations to girls, Leaders, County Personnel, Vice Presidents, Ambassadors, other guests, County Councillors, Mayors, MPs, Lord Lieutenant.
  • Arrange for entertainment at presentation

Please be aware that assistance is also provided by the County Office to ensure information is circulated to committee members and Leaders.
